Mission Statement
The purpose of the DCGBL is to provide a fun, supportive and safe venue for LGBT individuals and ally athletes of various skill levels to play basketball. Having set teams, weekly season games and championship games; the league play is expected to not only provide a venue for basketball, but also to create lasting and meaningful relationships between people from all walks of life in the D.C. area.
About This Cause
The funds go towards providing the league with facilities to play at, perform in world wide LGBTQ+ basketball tournaments, as well as keep league fees and dues low for players that come from low income situations. We strive to foster a safe space for people of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, or gender identity.
