Mission Statement
Next Level Mentoring & Family Services has been providing services in Virginia since 2017 with a particular emphasis on providing services to at-risk children and youth ages 13-21 who had been diagnosed with a mental or behavioral health disorder and who often were involved in the juvenile justice system. Through our various programs, we provide quality mentoring, care, guidance, support, and coordination of services for at-risk males/females either (1) in the client’s home or community, or (2) at our program-based sites in Richmond. We offer each client a full continuum of services commensurate with his/her strengths, limitations, needs, and interests. Clients are placed with a one-to-one mentor and into small groups not exceeding 10 clients per group according to a match between their age, developmental level, presenting problems, and learning and behavioral characteristics. The various management approaches range from a structured and positive behavior modification approach to a more client-directed and supportive group. Our goal is to establish homogeneity of social age and level of independent functioning within groups.
About This Cause
The goal of the services delivered in this regard is to decrease recidivism and create stronger and safer communities. Toward achieving our goal, we focus on two key areas: (1) reducing risk factors or what causes youth to come into the juvenile justice system, and (2) increasing protective factors or what will keep them from returning to the system. We also provide athletic and artistic sponsorship for young people whose families cannot afford the cost associated with that program. We provide community service opportunities as well. Providing clients and their families with services in the community including; food services, housing, and our on-site clothing closet which provides free clothes for those in need.
