Mission Statement

Our mission is to bridge the gap between how children in under-served communities are educated in the fields of Art, Science and Technology versus their peers in well-served communities. Studies show that if you were born poor, you'll likely stay poor. More specifically, a study published by the Pew Charitable Trust concluded that only 4% of those born into poverty will ever make it into the upper-middle class. The vision of TWiKAP is to completely flip this trend by bringing together, the brightest minds in the fields of Art, Science and Technology, with children from under-served communities...to help eliminate a cycle that leaves too many kids behind.

About This Cause

The What is Kale Art Project (TWiKAP) delivers premium, world-class workshops in the fields of Art, Science and Technology to children from under-served communities. Workshops are led by instructors who are among the best and brightest in their respective fields. Workshops are held on the campuses of some of the biggest tech companies in the world to give these children exposure to a world that is attainable. The gap between the poor and the upper-middle class is growing...not shrinking. We are committed to taking a different approach to solving this problem. An approach that has at its core, broadening the education experience in a way that is relevant and life-changing for children in these communities.
