Mission Statement
River Montessori High Schools exists to meet the developmental needs of adolescents by educating high school students through the Montessori Method in a mixed-income, community-oriented environment.
About This Cause
Locally, the purpose of RMHS is to educate high school students in a mixed-income learning environment that promotes universal flourishing for students, teachers, and the wider South Bend community. Regionally and nationally, our purpose is to inspire and equip other teachers to create their own student-centered, teacher-led high schools which meet the needs of families in their local communities. As a school where tuition is income-based, we believe that no family should be unable to attend due to lack of financial resources. RMHS will operate at maturity with no more than 5% of its operating budget relying on philanthropy. RMHS is a fully-inclusive, diverse educational environment where students are given the opportunity to be prepared for "What's Next" in life, whether that is attending college, going directly into the workforce, or something else.
