Mission Statement
Portland Pay It Forward strives to meet the basic needs of our local community with a non-judgmental attitude and “no questions asked” policy. We understand that most people fall into hard times at some point in their lives, and our mission is to help those people get back on their feet. Each community member is to be treated with dignity and respect. Many of our volunteers and donors are people who were once our clients.
About This Cause
PPIF is a food pantry first and foremost, giving away large boxes of food during bi-weekly drive-thru giveaways, as well as providing self-serve perishables 4 additional days of the week and a process for receiving emergency food boxes upon request. While we are primarily a food pantry, we also strive to fill other needs of our community, such as clothing, household items, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. If we are unable to fulfill a need, we provide a list of local resources and other agencies that can assist.
