Mission Statement
To mobilize and organize Eritrean women in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area to participate in efforts to bring democratic change and justice to Eritrea and to be the voice for the voiceless Eritreans everywhere. • To work cooperatively with the Eritrean Council in DC, Maryland and Virginia (EC- DMV) to expedite change of the oppressive and unjust government now controlling Eritrea by: i. ii. iii. Participating in EC-DMV sponsored events Encouraging women to assume leadership roles in the EC-DMV and other Eritrean movements for justice and democratic change. Collaborating with EC-DMV and other interested parties to build an Eritrean Community Centre. • To establish a healthy and vibrant Eritrean Community in collaboration with EC- DMV by building a cohesive and united Eritrean society based on mutual respect, understanding, tolerance and freedom. • To actively engage in fundraising efforts to materialize the establishment of an Eritrean Community Centre that will provide services to all Eritreans. • To encourage and motivate others in the U.S. and other countries, to form Eritrean women’s organizations and to promote a strong bond among all sister organizations in order to expedite the achievement of a just and democratic Eritrea. • To overcome all social, economic and political barriers which prevent women from becoming leaders in all organizations and to ensure that Eritrean women’s rights are prioritized and ensure their participation in all levels by educating them and raising their awareness

### Charity Description: Empowering Eritrean Women for Democratic Change **Mission Statement** We mobilize and organize Eritrean women in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area to advocate for democratic change and justice in Eritrea, amplifying the voices of the oppressed globally. **Goals and Objectives** 1. **Collaboration and Leadership** - Partner with the Eritrean Council in DC, Maryland, and Virginia (EC-DMV) to challenge the oppressive regime. - Engage in EC-DMV events to unite efforts for justice and democracy. - Promote women’s leadership within EC-DMV and Eritrean movements. 2. **Community Building** - Work with EC-DMV to establish an Eritrean Community Centre for support and advocacy. - Cultivate a respectful and tolerant Eritrean community. 3. **Fundraising Initiatives** - Conduct fundraising for the Eritrean Community Centre to provide vital services to the diaspora. 4. **Global Outreach and Support** - Encourage collaboration among Eritrean women’s organizations in the U.S. and abroad for a democratic Eritrea. 5. **Empowerment and Education** - Tackle barriers preventing women from leadership roles. - Promote education and awareness to prioritize the rights of Eritrean women. **Vision** We envision a united Eritrean society where women lead advocacy for democratic values, justice, and equal rights. Through education and persistent advocacy, we aim to dismantle barriers to progress and foster empowerment and community engagement.
