Mission Statement
4 Walls and Beyond, is driven by the mission: to provide educational support, mentorship, and essential resources to underrepresented communities, empowering them to lead healthy and successful lives. By cultivating learning, we aim to break the cycle of poverty, create sustainable change and racial healing within our community.
About This Cause
4 Walls and Beyond is passionate about addressing the challenges faced by families in distressed communities of St. Louis, MO, who are vulnerable to negative circumstances, including limited social support systems, poverty, and racial disparities. Children in these communities have at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACEs) that negatively impacts their health and well-being, in unsafe neighborhood conditions and high rates of crime. We aim to create a safe and empowering environment where these youth can thrive and build the skills and resilience they need to overcome challenges. Our efforts are to make a positive impact on the children’s mental health and decision-making while also helping to address their lack of access to essential resources, food insecurities, and educational development. While improving academic performance and boosting self-confidence through tutoring, arts and crafts, STEM activities, and group discussions, we aim to support the children in developing both their intellectual and interpersonal skills. We are seeking your support in funding community-centered initiatives that advance racial healing where understanding and equity can thrive. Ensuring children and their families have access to the essential resources they need including clothing, food distribution, personal hygiene kits, and educational materials. Our community-centered initiative will address psychological, behavioral, social, educational, and economic development in the underrepresented communities in St. Louis, MO. 4 Walls and Beyond is currently working on an exciting new initiative aimed at creating a new community center and green space for youth of all backgrounds crucial for fostering both their physical and emotional well-being.
