About This Cause
The San Juan Medical Foundation is a independant 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to enhance health care in the Four Corners Region. It was formed in 1985 by community-minded individuals who say the need for a comprehensive cancer treatment facility in Farmington, NM. Over the next two years more than $1M through a community-wide campaign was raised to build and equip the first Cancer Treatment Center in Farmington, NM. Through the years, the Foundation has continued to raise funds for a number of projects, including: Specialized equipment for the originial cancer center. The Connelly Hospitality House which provides lodging for cancer patients and their families, as well as families of trauma patients while they receive threatment at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Equipment for the first dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab at San Juan Regional Medical Center. The San Juan Medical Foundation also knows there is a need in our community for financial assistance for healthcare services that continue to grow each year. The funds include the Cathy Lincoln Memorial Cancer Fund which assists women in San Juan County with cancer related diagnostic testing and treatment. The Riley Industrial Mens Health Fund which assists men in San Juan County with medical treatment and services. The Hope Childrens Fund provides assistance with gas, food and lodging for San Juan County families who must travel outside the Four Corners to obtain medical treatment for their child.
