Mission Statement
The purpose of the Alamogordo Music Theatre, Inc. is to build and maintain a showcase for local talent to gain experience in the musical theatre field, to be a medium for entertainment for the people of Alamogordo, Holloman AFB, and surrounding areas. In addition, AMT shall be an outlet for recreation, musical and theatrical expression. It shall also utilize funds to encourage musical theatrical advancement and higher education for deserving and talented young people through scholarships.
About This Cause
Alamogordo Music Theatre, now over 65 years old, may well be the oldest musical theatre company in the Southwest. Since its founding in 1958, AMT has provided our community with over 146 full-scale musical productions. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, AMT has donated thousands of dollars to maintain and improve the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts. In addition, AMT awards scholarships to area students pursuing education and training in the Fine Arts, as well as sponsoring the talent scholarship at the Miss Alamogordo / Miss Otero County Scholarship Pageant.
