Mission Statement

Women in Robotics is a global community for women and non-binary people who work in robotics, and women or non-binary people who'd like to work in robotics.

About This Cause

Women in Robotics is a global community for women and non-binary people who work in robotics, and women or non-binary people who'd like to work in robotics. We hold local and online events and we connect women with mentoring and opportunities in robotics, both in research and industry. We share information and inspirational stories about women working in every aspect of robotics, with our annual "30 women in robotics you need to know about" list and regular newsletter spotlights or features. Project Inspire: our annual list of "50 women in robotics you need to know about" published on Ada Lovelace Day; regular Spotlights or Updates of women working in robotics; and the Women in Robotics Photo Challenge for more inspiring images. Project Advance: a women in robotics speaker and citation database; and wikipedia hackathons to create more women in robotics pages. Project Connect: a global online community; regular online networking events; and local in person networking events. Project Ally: Requesting higher education institutions and industry to stop using terminology like "unmanned" and "master/slave" and to start phasing out words like "manpower" and "manhours".
