Mission Statement
Please help us assure that families in our area do not go without a Thanksgiving meal. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, we assemble and deliver boxes full of the ingredients necessary for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Our goal is to deliver 500 boxes to less fortunate families in the Bay Area. This will feed close to 4,000 people this day!
About This Cause
In 1987, Art Scott began a program he called “Thanksgiving Build-A-Box”. For 36 years this volunteer program has provided Thanksgiving dinners to hundreds of needy families by delivering a box with a turkey, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, vegetables, potatoes, dinner rolls, gravy mix and a pumpkin pie. In memory of Art, this year our family and friends have gathered to continue his worthy tradition that began so many years ago. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the program, we first collect tax deductible donations from individuals and companies. Local charities provide us with the names of families in need. Then, on the Monday before Thanksgiving we assemble and deliver the boxes with all their Thanksgiving ingredients to as many families as your contributions allow.
