Mission Statement
The Troy Alumni Kommunity Outreach Foundation (TAKO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Troy Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and serves the greater Troy community through youth mentorship, charitable giving, investing in education, and supporting human infrastructure.
About This Cause
Each year, TAKO awards a minimum of $6,000 in financial scholarships to deserving Pike County high school male and female seniors who aspire to attend college. The Foundation also provides financial support to the local undergraduate chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at Troy University and the local alumni chapter, Troy Alumni, with their individual community service commitments. TAKO’s primary purpose is to partner with local businesses to raise the funds needed to award as many scholarships as possible. As an organization, we are focused on providing financial support to those communities that have been traditionally underserved in Pike County, Alabama. TAKO aims to positively influence, enhance, transform, and impact the lives of our young men and women, and our seniors. I'm sure you are aware that the cost of secondary education continues to rise, which can deter students from pursuing higher education. This is especially true for those underserved students who lack the means to fund their education. TAKO is committed to encouraging and supporting these young men and women financially in pursuit of higher education to improve their opportunities to compete in an ever-changing global market.
