Mission Statement
91 Place exists to be a safe place for homeless youth to be, grow, and transform.
About This Cause
When our founder was creating 91 Place, she asked dozens of homeless youth, "if you could have one thing right now that would change everything, what would it be?" Without fail, every time, they would say, 'a family'". This is how 91 Place came to be, creating a home to instill community, relationship, and family back into the lives of our youth. 91 Place exists to be a safe place for homeless youth to be, grow, and transform. Residents ages 17-22 are able to stay for up to two years. This gives them space to further education, obtain a job, save money, and create healthy relationships. Through our life skills curriculum and mentorship program, our residents learn the skills they need to be an independent adult. With therapy and trauma-responsive care, they heal from years of trauma. "People don't become homeless when they run out of money, at least not right away. They become homeless when they run out of relationships.
