Mission Statement
The Neighborhood Theatre Project creates opportunities for community building, reflection, and dialogue. Together with local communities, we engage an emergent process grounded in theatrical methodologies to weave personal stories into a shared narrative and catalyze conversations between neighbors.
About This Cause
The Neighborhood Theatre Project was born out of a desire to create greater access to theatre through verbatim storytelling. We are heavily invested in the unique opportunities verbatim theatre-making offers to engage participants and audiences: to listen and connect with fellow neighbors through stories, and to experience one’s own story told onstage. Since our founding, we have focused on intentional and emergent growth. NTP continues to engage new artists, community partners, and participants, exploring how to use theatre as a tool for community building and engagement.
