Mission Statement
Hunger Free Unity In the Community (Hunger Free UIC) is a nonprofit traveling food bank championing food equity in Hudson County, New Jersey through year-round healthy food distribution and nutrition education. We provide free produce and other food items to Hudson County’s communities to mitigate food scarcity and help support healthy eating and improve health.
About This Cause
Hunger Free UIC is a 100% volunteer-based free food distribution 501(c)(3) organization that ensures our communities have nutritious food to eat. Anyone who comes to our weekly food distributions will receive free food without any requirement to show ID or register. We support and provide our county communities with reliable, year-round access to healthy food because food insecurity knows no season. We provide free nutritious food to our neighbors in multiple communities that need ways to support healthy eating that they would not ordinarily be able to accomplish without our distribution program. Our corporate partners see the communities’ needs and regularly donate food to our cause. Ultimately, Hunger Free does not want anyone to go to bed hungry.
