Brownstone Quarry View company will be operating in a 334-year-old Brownstone Quarry for educational purposes with Hands-On exhibits showing Quarry operations back to 1686 as a Living Museum, conducting tours and providing displays. Quarry View will also be promoting the Arts and continued exploration of the past and maintaining this area for preservation. Our goal is to make this National Historic Landmark available to anyone to view and preserve the historic walls, stones, waterways and artifacts, maintain the grounds to best display items found on site as we uncover them. Promote a place for wellness and the Arts One of our missions is to make this Park available for anyone to visit and to educate people about the history of mining the Brownstone and the lives of those who worked there. More important is preserving this space and allowing for events that promote education, community and wellness. We are focused on raising money for the historic education in our local schools The park has a .54-mile walking self or guided tour with markers around the park, 6 Derrick locations dating back to the late 1800s with 3 first known steam donkey locations along with tools, drills and chisels dating back to 1700s. Stones are on display showing the 4 types of cuts used to remove the stones. Dinosaur prints have been found and preserved showing their original walking path. We offer this space for anyone to who feels the need to just come and gather their thoughts and we have weekly Drum circles on Tue and Friday nights.
