About This Cause
The Institute for Youth in Policy (YIP) is a nonpartisan institute that seeks to suppress policy divisiveness by fostering innovation, discovery, and discourse. Founded just over a year ago (July 2020), the Institute for Youth in Policy seeks to re-engage young adults in politics. Over the last forty years, there has been a distressing downward trend in youth voter participation and turnout. Frankly, YIP intends to reverse this trend. It is through policy exposure, education, research, and constructive discourse that we believe we can implement this change and flip the statistic. After operating 28 programs, over 3-million website visits, programming with thousands of students, and posting over 500 policy articles, we've figured out what works and what doesn't. We firmly believe in the impact of community-based interaction and impact, consequently, we have developed a three-pronged approach to better address the current political scene. The Institute is fully committed to being a youth-led organization — who better to lead the movement than gen-z themselves?
