Mission Statement
Kindness Farm is an immigrant, refugee & queer led 501c3 educational urban farm in SE Portland, Oregon. We cultivate equitable access to healthy produce, provide education on growing food, care for land using regenerative practices, and foster vibrant community. We center working with historically underserved and underrepresented communities: immigrants & refugees, LGBTQIIA2S+, people with low-incomes, unsheltered people, BIPOC, people with disabilities, youth & seniors.
About This Cause
In the last two years we've spent hundreds of hours teaching environmental, sustainable gardening and farming practices to over 1000 individuals from underserved communities, in 5 different languages, both on site and in off site locations throughout our community. In the process, we’ve engaged our community with over 12,000 volunteer hours, and as a by-product, we’ve grown healthy produce for over 40,000 meals & produce boxes to return to our community and serve over 10,000 individuals experiencing food insecurity.
