FOUNDATION FOR BLIND CHILDREN

PHOENIX, Arizona, 85020-0000 United States

Mission Statement

The Foundation for Blind Children believes that vision loss is a diagnosis, not a disability.

About This Cause

The Foundation for Blind Children was founded in 1952 by parents of blind children who wanted services for their blind children in Phoenix, instead of having to send them to the State Institution for the Blind in Tucson. FBC serves the blind and visually impaired of all ages, from birth to currently 103 years old. As the only agency of its kind in Arizona, the Foundation for Blind Children is an essential resource to families and children with blindness or low vision. With three Valley locations (East Valley, West Valley and Central Phoenix), we strive to serve as "the" community's resource for blind, visually impaired, and multi-handicapped children, adults, and their families. You can donate to FBC, up to $800 as a couple or $400 as an individual and get it all back - dollar for dollar - as a Charitable Giving state tax credit. This is not just another deduction, but a true credit that works just like cash to either reduce the amount you owe or increase your refund. And although you get your gift back as a state tax credit, your contribution to FBC is still fully deductible on your federal return. Also note that you can give to both your favorite school and FBC and receive maximum tax credits for both donations.
