Mission Statement
Since 1972, NAC has been recognized as an innovative Native American multiservice organization working to improve community health and wellness along with increasing housing stability.
About This Cause
Each year, NAC impacts the lives of individuals, families and children who are struggling with addiction, mental illness and/or healthy and safe housing issues by providing the following: Four permanent supportive housing communities serving homeless, homeless disabled, individuals living with HIV/AIDS and chronically homeless men and women (199 total units). NAC will begin on a 5th housing community, Camelback Pointe, in late 2016. Seven affordable housing communities for low-income individuals and families, and the elderly (358 total units). NAC opened Cedar Crossing for families in January 2016 and Landmark for seniors in January 2017 bringing the unit total to 410. Two transitional living programs: HomeBase Youth Services – 25 beds for homeless youth and Pendleton Court – 11 beds for women. Patina Wellness Center (opened in July 2016), a residential substance use program for men and women experiencing the negative effect of substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Patina Wellness Center combines evidence based practices for substance use treatment with Native American healing and ceremonies, integrated medical care and alternative therapies to provide a holistic environment that heals the mind, body and spirit. Intensive Outpatient Programs for adults, families and adolescents—providing intensive outpatient counseling, education & treatment. Children’s General Mental Health program—serving children in need of mental health support due to behavioral challenges, family difficulties, and substance abuse within the family Adult Outpatient Services—General Mental Health (psychiatric evaluations, medication management, counseling, case management); and services for Transition Age Youth (TAY) In addition, Native American Connections participates in community development projects that strengthen the Native American Community such as the Phoenix Indian School Legacy Project at Steele Indian School Park.
