Mission Statement
ARCH shall carry out within the State of Arizona the general purpose of the corporation. This purpose is the provision of socially acceptable and individually enjoyable activities for persons with varying degrees of disabling conditions regardless of age, sex, race, economics or ethnic background. The mission of ARCH is to enhance and maintain the quality of life of individuals with special needs by providing therapeutic recreation services, educational programs, health and wellness programs, socialization opportunities and basic living skills in our facilities and in the community. As a neighborhood and community resource, ARCH is committed to its mission and provides facilities for recreation, fitness and sports-related opportunities for those with and without special needs alike.
About This Cause
Founded in 1975, ARCH is situated on five acres of land in the heart of Phoenix. ARCH serves children and adults with special needs and offers various programs throughout the week to meet their ever changing needs. The campus has grown strategically over time to include: the Recreation & Sports Complex (full gymnasium, fitness center, kitchen and performing arts stage); the Sports & Fitness Park (a universal sports field for soccer, football and softball with outdoor restrooms and concession stand); the main Recreation Center (arts & crafts, science activities, table games, fooseball, ping pong and pool table, etc.); the ARCHKids dedicated building for after-school programming and summer day camp; and the ARCHKids full accessible playground. Programs are offered year-round for adults and children with special needs and include: Day Treatment and Training for Adults, Teen and Adult Drop-In Recreation programs, ARCHKids after-school programs and summer day camps, Performing Arts Troupe, Special Olympics training and competitions, in and out of state Adventure Trips, STEPS to Health & Wellness programs and much more. It is a safe and welcoming environment which has served thousands of our most vulnerable people since its inception. Our motto is: "A Place to Thrive, Enriching Lives".
