Mission Statement

The Arizona Jewish Historical Society preserves and celebrates the rich heritage of Arizona's Jewish communities, educates the public about the Jewish historical experience including the Holocaust, and promotes awareness of our state's diverse history through arts, culture, and educational programming

About This Cause

The Arizona Jewish Historical Society provides the following services to our community. We are open to people of all races and religions. We have restored Phoenix, Arizona's original synagogue building into the Cutler-Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center, a museum, cultural center, and event venue open to people of all races, religions, and backgrounds. We host regular exhibitions on Jewish history and culture We organize a monthly documentary film series on topics of Jewish history and culture We organize a monthly book discussion group on topics of Jewish interest We sponsor a local genealogy group We host regular interfaith forums and activities We provide a community Speakers Bureau We collect and maintain a large community archive of over 50,000 unique photographs, documents, artifacts, and other information about the Jewish experience in Arizona and the Southwest
