Mission Statement
The United States Marshals Posse (USMP) is a private organization whose purposes are to furnish non-law enforcement assistance to the United States Marshals Service (USMS); The USMP also supports other charitable organizations that are related to law enforcement or to the needs of children. USMP assists both in participation and financially. Each year the group identified by their black leather vests, black western hats, and matching grey and black tack, participates in the Fiesta Bowl Parade, the Scottsdale Parada del Sol, Wickenburg Gold Rush Days Parade, Annual Golf Tournament and Prescott’s Frontier Days Parade. In addition to its parade appearances, the Posse also supports numerous other charitable initiative such as the Posse several Shop-with-a-Cop Christmas events which help local underprivileged children celebrate Christmas each year. Finally, the Posse provides direct support for planning and operational delivery for the annual DOJ Memorial for fallen officers.
About This Cause
The USMP golf tournament purpose is to raise funds to support the following two charities: US Marshals Survivors Benefits Fund and the Franklin Police & Fire High School. 1. Franklin Police & Fire High is a National Blue Ribbon School recognized by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Franklin was one of only four Arizona Schools named! Additionally, Franklin is a silver medal winner, ranked as one of the best high schools in the State of Arizona as reported by US News and World Report and we are now a "Gold Medal" Beat the Odds School. Franklin provides a rigorous and disciplined physical and academic college prep high school education. Students attending Franklin come to prepare for careers in Law Enforcement and/or Fire Fighting/EMS. http://www.phxhs.k12.az.us/franklin 2. The U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund was founded in 2012 in response to the devastating loss of ten Deputy and Special Deputy U.S. Marshals in line of duty deaths in 2011. It is a private nonprofit corporation formed exclusively for charitable and educational disbursements of its funds to the surviving family members of active United States Marshals, Deputy U.S. Marshals, Marshals Service employees, and Special Deputy U.S. Marshals who are killed in the line of duty. The Fund also provides economic support to programs that preserve the memory of those fallen heroes. The U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund is not a government entity or a component of the United States Marshals Service. The Fund is a private nonprofit charitable corporation, with Internal Revenue Service exemption status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
