Mission Statement

Phoenix Center for the Arts is the best arts center in the universe! We are available to anyone (beginner and experienced) who might want to: take arts classes; make and buy art; find local events - like the Phoenix Festival of the Arts! Thanks to some great people and organizations we have also created new programs that serve children who might be able to afford the classes or reach the Center. We've served over 4000 low-income children in the valley, every year thanks to the generous giving of others!

About This Cause

Our mission is to provide opportunities to participate in the visual and performing arts through quality classes, programming, and events. The Central Arts Alliance a 501(c)3, dba the Phoenix Center for the Arts has been providing community arts classes since 1975. In recent years, we used this success to expand what we do and created new outreach programs for the community. Looking forward, we will keep the same balance of sustainable, tuition-based programs that will allow us to continue responding to the needs of the community. But we are limited in scope by the usual challenges that most organizations face. Thanks to our lean operation, even a small donation will go a long way. E.g., in our outreach programs mentioned below, $50 pays for supplies for one group of children, $150 can pay for a whole class for a child, $250 can pay for a summer camp for a child, and $750 can support one Art Mobile visit to a community center and serve 50-100 children. The work we do can be broken down into five categories: classes, events, outreach, rentals, and arts incubation: Classes: Ceramics Creative Writing Dance Glass Metals & Jewelry Mixed Media Mosaics Music (voice, piano, guitar) Painting & Drawing Photography Printmaking Spanish-language (various classes including, singing, acting, ceramics) Writing Youth Art (anime, painting and drawing) Youth Music (voice, piano, guitar, jazz) Youth Computers (photography, videography, computer animation) Youth Theater (acting, improvisation, play writing) Teen Artist Guild + Teen Artist Council Summer Camp Fall Break Camp Winter Camp Spring Break Camp Events: Phoenix Festival of the Arts Outreach: Art Mobile partners Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix Roosevelt Wellness Center Maryvale Community Center And many more Residencies South Pointe Junior High South Pointe Elementary Terraces of Phoenix Chandler Early College Arizona Collegiate Academy Academia del Pueblo Peoria Library Field Trips For elementary schools Partnerships Homeward Bound Banner Alzheimer’s Institute Audubon Society of Arizona Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix Brain Injury Alliance Rentals: We rent space to dozens of organizations and individual artists for everything including rehearsals, meetings, and performances.
