About This Cause
pdLIFE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established to unite the Parkinson's community of the Greater Tampa Bay Area, including Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties. Through engagement in exercise, education, and socialization, we aim to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson's today. Our programs are specifically designed to address the following: -Lack of patient education and understanding of Parkinson's Disease -The need for consistent, free fitness and mobility programs for all ability levels -Social isolation due to disease restriction and stigma -Connecting people with Parkinson's with healthcare professionals specially trained for this diagnosis. Currently, pdLIFE offers: -Eight weekly exercise classes, across four locations in Hillsborough County -Monthly support group meetings for people with Parkinson's, as well as care partners -Monthly social lunches -Monthly educational lunches with presentations from local clinical experts -An annual Challenge event in Hillsborough and Pinellas, where PD warriors can celebrate their accopmlishments. -Annual holiday events, picnics and parties
