Mission Statement
To treat our Nation citizens with respect, dignity and equality; To preserve and promote our culture and language To protect our tribal cultural resources, cultural landscapes and sacred spaces; To partner with agencies, institutions and organizations to reverse climate change; To enhance the quality of life and economic sustainability for Tamien citizens; To promote our traditional values honoring our agreement with the world; and To reacquire our unceded traditional homelands to secure our worldview and way of life.
About This Cause
Tamien Nation is the aboriginal Tribe of Santa Clara Valley with direct lineal descent from Tamien speaking villages. The Tamien Nation nonprofit helps strengthen our Nation by building healthy Native families, stewarding our homeland, and addressing climate change through various programming including language revitalization, cultural preservation, food sovereignty, prescribed fire, and land acquisition.
