Mission Statement
The mission of the Friends of the Weber-Morgan Children's Justice Center is to provide resources to create a child-friendly, comfortable, environment to reduce victim trauma during child abuse investigations.
About This Cause
The Friends of the Weber-Morgan Children's Justice Center serve child victims of crime, including sexual abuse and physical abuse by raising, managing and distributing funds to: - Provide and maintain a child friendly facility conducive to the reduction of secondary trauma incident to the investigative process. - Support appropriate investigative techniques and facilitate training opportunities and cooperative partnerships for staff, board, multi-disciplinary teams and volunteers of the Weber/Morgan Children's Justice Center. - Provide resources to benefit the center and its operations unavailable through the State of Utah and local county entities. At the Weber-Morgan CJC, we strive to: • Conduct interviews in a safe, home-like environment. • Minimize the number of times a child must be interviewed. • Perform medical examinations, when appropriate, on any child who is the victim of alleged physical or sexual abuse. • Decrease secondary trauma to victims and families by having a centralized location to receive services from multiple agencies. • Expedite cases by coordinating and sharing information between the criminal justice and child protective systems. • Provide the resources and information as well as protection and prosecution when appropriate.
