About This Cause
The Kristine Pettoni Foundation is an Atlanta based, non-profit, tax-exempt 501c3 organization focused on reducing under-employment and promoting gender equality in the workplace. Our mission is to empower working women by advancing gender equality and promoting independence through education, mentoring and financial assistance. Our target audience is women (and people who identify as women) between the ages of 22-55+ who are interested in starting their career, changing their career or coming back into the workforce after taking some time off. We want to provide them with the confidence, skills and network to get them on the right track to financial independence and long-term career success. Our plan is to create an Atlanta area-based mentorship program for women with a focus on career guidance and financial literacy. We will create a curriculum-based program as well as provide mentor-mentee partnerships with women who are experienced in their respective fields. The curriculum will focus on financial and career fundamentals such as budgeting, resume building, interview skills, etc. The program participant complete online coursework, participate in hands-on skills training and build relationships with potential mentors of her choosing. Once a participant has successfully completed the program, they will have the opportunity to apply for financial grants from the organization. Grant money can be used for daycare payments, scholarships, transportation and housing costs, and/or any relevant financial need. With support from her mentors, and using the skills that she learned from the mentorship program, the participant will write up a proposal and present her grant application to the KPF board. If the applicant can show in her proposal that the grant would have a lasting and financially beneficial impact, then she will meet the approval of the board. Our goal is to help motivated women with the education and financial support they need to advance their careers and earning potential. We work to empower women to advocate for themselves and reach financial independence.
