About This Cause
Great Life Mentoring is a 501(c)(3) public charity and an evidence-based mental health intervention that utilizes trained community volunteers to significantly improve the mental health conditions of children living in poverty. It’s unlike any other mentoring program, and it’s proven to work. Since 2000, Great Life Mentoring (GLM) has worked in partnership with mental health organizations, and its careful approach has helped heal over 1,000 kids—providing nearly 100,000 hours of consistency, positive interactions and quality time that literally changes lives. The organization is engaged in the highest-level scientific research (a randomized controlled trial), with the long-term goal of scaling this proven intervention and providing GLM’s standard of care, stability and emotional competence to children in communities through the US and Canada.
