About This Cause
Cosmic Writers is a registered 501(c)(3) that aims to ensure that every child has the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to write creatively. We have three core programs: Word Camp, our virtual creative writing camp; Cosmic Coaching, our one-on-one mentorship series; and creative writing activity books with corresponding curriculum and professional development. Our activity books combine narrative with writing prompts into a creative writing “package” that kids can use independently and/or educators can use to guide a group through an exciting writing process. All our materials are designed with a focus on engagement and equity. We want all children to experience writing in a way that is fun, empowering, and exciting. In our direct service programs, we have had great success at achieving this goal, with 97% of our participants reporting increased enjoyment of writing. With our activity books and professional development, our objective is to make it possible for any educator to teach a Cosmic-Writers-style creative writing workshop.
