Mission Statement
Maple Leaf Foundation is a grassroots, non-profit organization that works directly with Maple Leaf Real Estate and Seattle Children’s Hospital to create affordable, nurturing, child-centered housing for low to moderate-income families, who must relocate to Seattle for long-term pediatric cancer and cardiac care.
About This Cause
Due to the lack of affordable housing, and the immense financial burden that comes with moving a family, many families are forced to split up or not receive the treatment. We work directly with the social workers in pediatric cancer and cardiac care, to put low to moderate-income families into fully furnished homes. The Maple Leaf Foundation then subsidizes the rent on a sliding scale. We hope to create health equity for children of all backgrounds by keeping vulnerable families together and creating spaces of support and healing.
