About This Cause
In the vibrant tapestry of Chicago, the south side stands as a place of immense history, culture, and resilience. Yet, amid its richness, there are challenges that persist. Poverty, educational disparities, and limited access to resources have long been obstacles for many south side residents. It is within this context that our nonprofit charity, the Calhoun Foundation was born. Our Vision At the heart of our organization lies a vision deeply rooted in community empowerment, independence, stewardship, and positive exposure. We envision a Chicago where every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the well-being of their community. We understand that individuals and families on the south side often face challenges related to housing, food security, healthcare, and education.
