Mission Statement
The SPCA, founded in 1998, is Reno’s original no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to be an innovative regional leader in responsible treatment of homeless dogs and cats, primarily through their rescue and placement in forever loving homes and by promoting spaying and neutering to control pet overpopulation. We accomplish our mission with dedication to our core values and a lifetime commitment to our animals.
About This Cause
SPCA of Northern Nevada connects people and homeless pets to bring joy, love, and compassion to our community and beyond. We offer quality adoptions, humane education programs, and affordable spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. In 2020 we: • Placed 1,463 pets into safe, loving homes. • Provided 2,416 high-quality spay and neuter surgeries. • Provided 8,431 community vaccinations. • Helped 76 pets stay with their families through Todd's Medical Assistance Fund
