Mission Statement
Our mission at Up ENDing Parkinson’s is to help people develop practices through education, lifestyle changes and rock climbing that will help nourish the mind, body and soul. EDUCATE: Help people living with Parkinson's disease understand what works best for them and their family members by providing resources and practices to promote lifestyle changes that will help them thrive. We will also gain knowledge through our commitment to Research. NOURISH: Enrich and nourish the mind, body, and soul through fitness, alternative therapies, social events, and of course Rock Climbing! DEVELOP: We practice what we preach and we understand that fitness and wellness is a lifestyle that must be cultivated over time. Every individual is different but we are committed to helping you through your personal journey to develop the resilience to succeed.
About This Cause
Your financial support allows us to promote the health of those living with Parkinson’s Disease by providing affordable rock climbing programs across the United States. The dream would be to have a local rock climbing program available for anyone who wants to join this community. Up ENDing Parkinson’s will help support this effort by providing training tools and program structuring for instructors and climbing gyms, outreach and education, outdoor climbing retreats, as well as funding and involvement in studies on climbing and Parkinson’s Disease. Our headquarters at Sportrock Climbing Centers in Alexandria Virginia will also host annual events for anyone to join! Your gifts will make this happen.
