Mission Statement
Nefelaba Dance Theater is a Non-profit Dance company based in Brooklyn, New York. The company focuses on, but not exclusively, capturing the experience of those on the Autism Spectrum and showcasing it in a dance performance. The performances come with educational materials that give the audience members a greater insight into a day in the life of someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
About This Cause
Nefelaba Dance Theater creates educational dance performances that bring discussion to important matters related to those on the Autism Spectrum. You could think of this as a kind of extended TED Talk with a speaker talking about what the performance is about prior to the show, and the meaning behind the performance after the show. Each audience member will receive a pamphlet with educational material and a list of places to call and inquire about should they want further information. We also provide a bi-weekly newsletter on articles about those on the Autism Spectrum, as well as news and events related to minority arts, business, and events in the NYC metropolitan area. We also provide a quarterly micro-grant of $500 to selected applicants.
