About This Cause

Founder Dee Dee Taylor grew up as the daughter of an incarcerated parent, with no memories of her father outside of prison. She is also the oldest sister of Breonna Taylor who tragically lost her life in a botched raid in by Louisville, Kentucky police officers. Dee Dee is determined to change the narrative of her young life and not let bitterness, fear, or trauma dictate her story. With aspirations from her father, Dee Dee leveraged her passion and social work background to create "Taylor Made Re-Entry," a non-profit formed to provide pre- and post-release services to men and women returning home from incarceration. Taylor Made Re-Entry creates a unique angle that assists in bridging the gap between communities, law-enforcement and those impacted by the criminal justice system. Dee Dee strives to help individuals like her father with vital programming, advocacy, and resources that assist in post-incarceration success. In March 2020, a botched raid led to the death of Breonna Taylor. Across the nation, demonstrators filled the streets shouting her name with reverence, anger, and frustration as they called for justice. In an effort to help our community heal from the pain and unprecedented trauma of witnessing these injustices happen repeatedly, Taylor Made Re-Entry has partnered with law-enforcement to help bring healing to the broader community . H.E.A.L., Helping Eradicate Adverse Law-Enforcing is a national movement that address address the inadequate education in police practices and have embraced the pain of the mental and emotional suffering caused by the injustice of Breonna Taylor’s death.Healing is a layered experience that has to encompass all groups and people. The second piece of this initiative is educating law enforcement officials in the importance of reevaluating traditional police methods. In an effort to create a mending process, Taylor Made Re-Entry is asking the public to donate,support, share and be a advocate in this healing experience. As we remember Breonna Taylor’s life we will continue to work with our communities to create a healthier society.
