Mission Statement
The mission of the NTC Foundation is to enrich the lives of San Diegans by renovating 26 historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center to create, facilitate and operate a broad-based Arts District focused on experiencing the arts, culture and creativity that are the hallmark of the San Diego region.
About This Cause
The NTC Foundation (NTCF) was established in 2000 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to renovate a former Naval Training Center to create, facilitate, and operate a 100-acre ARTS DISTRICT to serve the San Diego region and beyond. The NTCF is in the process of renovating and managing the 26 historic buildings to be a leading international destination that nurtures, convenes and showcases discourse, excellence and diversity in arts, culture and creativity. With 17 of our 26 buildings complete, the ARTS DISTRICT at Liberty Station is now home to over 90 arts, culture, and community groups. New business development has resulted in 35 commercial businesses and sole proprietors at the ARTS DISTRICT, including 27 start-ups, 14 women-owned and 6 minority-owned businesses. Each year, over 800,000 people from throughout the San Diego - Tijuana region and from around the world attend a District event, exhibit, or business, truly making this a new center for civic life in the heart of San Diego.
