Mission Statement

CareerVillage.org's mission is to democratize access to career information and advice for underrepresented youth. We do that by crowdsourcing the answers to every question from every student about every career. To find out more, head to www.careervillage.org or send us a note (team@careervillage.org)!

About This Cause

CareerVillage.org is a 501c3 non-profit tackling the profound lack of career readiness that plagues young people worldwide, especially those in low-income communities. Students are pursuing their education without a clear understanding of their career options, and we're changing that. We do that by recruiting professionals to give students advice online using our Q&A mentoring platform. Volunteering on CareerVillage.org is as simple as answering a career question posed by a young person online, when time permits, and without any long-term commitments. It's simple, scalable, convenient, and truly impactful. CareerVillage focuses on low-income communities where the need is greatest, and is already in use at schools and after-school programs like KIPP, Achievement First, and Summit Public Schools. CareerVillage.org was founded by two McKinsey & Co. alumni and was launched through an innovation grant paid for by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
