CHURCH COUNCIL OF GREATER SEATTLE

SEATTLE, Washington, 98118-0467 United States

Mission Statement

We connect congregations with partners of all sectors to work for justice.

About This Cause

Currently celebrating our 100th anniversary, the Church Council of Greater Seattle embraces a model of grassroots organizing, listening to and walking alongside communities and congregations. Together, we are forging concrete wins in Bellevue, Burien, Kent, Seattle, and King County on immigration, affordable housing, restorative justice, and economic justice. The Church Council of Greater Seattle organizes people of faith to act for the common good. As a community of communities, we bring together 340 Seattle area Christian congregations who collaborate with partners from all sectors. We nurture the vitality of faith communities and equip them to collaborate through workshops, campaigns, worship, and gatherings. 372 groups used our services during 2013 – faith communities and partner agencies. The Church Council was founded in 1919 and continues to find new frontiers, catalyzing collaboration across boundaries and serving needs of our region in the 21st Century from our home in the Rainier Valley of South Seattle.
