About This Cause
Tacoma Community House aims to provide the highest quality of services to all individuals who come seeking services. TCH is a vital and valuable resource for immigrants, refugees, and long-time residents seeking enrichment and pathways to become contributing community members. The diverse programs provided at TCH are a catalyst for change and growth. By fostering self-sufficiency, participants gain the skills they need to transition out of poverty, navigate a new culture, and be successful in their lives. Serving the South Puget Sound region for more than 100 years. Today, TCH is a nationally respected, community‐based, multiservice center providing 3,700 program services to 2,700 adults and youth from the U.S. and over 90 other countries through its four core programs. Education: Basic Education for Adults , English Language Acquisition Classes, Read2Me, and tutoring services Employment: Adult and youth job preparation services Immigration: Citizenship Classes, assistance with DACA, and an array of immigration services Advocacy: Client Advocacy which supports victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes, as well as, social justice advocacy. Vision: We are a pathway to change leading to generations of self-sufficient people and a region welcoming of immigrants and refugees.
