Mission Statement

Changing the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people's lives every day.

About This Cause

Founded in May of 1947, Easterseals Washington has been serving children and adults with disabilities and their families across the state for over 70 years. Over the past seven decades, we have offered a variety of services to help those who need it most, and we are constantly working to reach underserved populations throughout Washington. Easterseals Washington (ESW) provides services to children and adults with disabilities through six primary programming areas: - Camp Stand By Me is a fully-accessible summer camp and respite service located in Vaughn, WA for children and adults. Camp is about all the tings children and adults can do: swim, boat, sing, eat s'mores, build life long friendships and more. - ESW's Olympic Peninsula Autism Center provides intensive, center-based ABA Therapy to children (ages 8 months - 18 yrs) with Autism in Kitsap County. ABA Therapy is recognized as the most effective treatment for autism and has enabled children across the country to lead fulfilling lives. - ESW's Adult Services centers provide a place for adults with disabilities to be active in the community, socialize with their peers and receive needed health and personal care services. - ESW's Workforce Development program provides training and job placement for adults with disabilities. We give support to people with disabilities - such as job coaching, placement and transportation. - ESW's three Child Development Centers provide high-quality, fully-inclusive childcare to children with and without disabilities.
