About This Cause
Washington Environmental Council is a nonprofit statewide advocacy organization that has been driving positive change to solve Washington's most critical environmental challenges since 1967. WEC is as a collaborator and convener, capable of bringing disparate views together and reaching consensus. WEC builds bridges between the business and environmental communities, ensures our lawmakers in Olympia know that environmental issues matter to Washingtonians, and takes actions on issues that have a lasting, positive impact on the health and safety of our people, our natural resources, and our economic future. WEC’s current work is focused in three primary areas: finding solutions to mitigate climate change and promote clean energy, protecting and restoring Puget Sound, and incentivizing forest landowners to better protect ecosystems.
