Mission Statement

CMCH MISSION IT TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF DIVERSE COMMUNITIES INCLUDING PEOPLE OF COLOR , INDIVIDUAL WITH LIMITED ENGLISH PROFIENCIECY ,IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES- THROUGH INNOVATIVE HEALTH ADVOCACY ,DISEASE PREVENTION AND IMMIGRANTS REFUGEES SERVICE PROGRAMS, SINCE1976 WE HAVE WORKED WITH PATNERSHIPS WITH INDIVIDUALS , GROUPS , AND ORGANIZATION THROUGH OUT THE COMMUNITY TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION. OUR APPROACH TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION. OUR APPROACH IS FIRMLY GROUNDED IN THE PRINCIPLE THAT EFFECTIVE RESPONSES TO HEALTH ISSUES MUST BE GENERATED IN PATNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY AND MEET EVOLVING COMMUNITY NEEDS. THEREFOR,WE HIRE STATFF WHO REFLECT AND UNDERSTAND THE COMMUNITIES WITH WHICH THEY WORK AND WHO WORK THROUGH AND WITHIN COMMUNITY NETWORKDS TO ENSURE SUPPORT FOR OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

About This Cause

YOUTH PROGRAM: STAND -SPEAKING STRUTH and NEW DIRECTION We are comprised of culturally inclusive youth leaders who provide the community ,schools and faith based organizations with substance abuse and educational materials that are cultural appropriate and fits the community which they represent. We use innovative health advocacy and prevention programs. Our Mission is to promote the health and wellness of youth and teens throughout the state; by working to eliminate health disparities in communities of color. We utilize innovative substance abuse prevention tools, health advocacy and education programs. ❖ Engage youth ages 12-18 in substance abuse prevention tools ❖ Educate parents, community leaders and legislators of the unintended consequences of marijuana legalization ❖ The program offers youth leaders and youth a community to be creative in a drug free environment. STAND is a youth led and youth focused group. Our members represent several high schools – but together we STAND. Youth: ❖ Information about the effects of use of marijuana, tobacco and other drugs. ❖ Develop educational materials, prevention tools – with use of media ❖ Provide peers with healthy social activities that provide an alternative to using drugs Parents/ Adults ❖ Provide prevention tools and methods to talk to youth about the negative effects caused by use ❖ Outreach and provide support for parents
