Mission Statement

The Davenport Senior Center, in partnership with the people we serve, offers nutritional, health, social, recreational and educational programs that promote lifelong independence.

About This Cause

The Davenport Senior Center is governed by a volunteer board of directors. In partnership with Okanagan County Transportation and Nutrition we are able to provide nutritious low-cost meals to our seniors in the community. Our home bound seniors are able to receive delivered hot meals as well. Seniors aged 60 and over may dine with our center three days a week for a suggested donation. Persons under the age of 60 may attend senior meals but are required to pay full cost of the meal. All meals are approved by a licensed dietician. The donations for the meal program do not go to the Davenport Senior Center and are given directly to OCTN. In addition to being able to provide nutritious meals to our seniors, we are also a place that our senior community can come together to socialize, whether it be a friendly game of Pinochle, a group for ham radio operators or a balance and conditioning class. The Center provides a safe loving environment to meet the social needs of the elderly in our community. The ability for our center to continue to operate is only possible through the generosity of donations and grants.
