Mission Statement

Our mission: We provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare far from home.

About This Cause

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska, we offer the comforts of home and support services to families of seriously ill children near the medical care they need. When these families are in crisis, they can rely on the consistency and care of the House to help them in their time of need. We have the capacity to accommodate up to 139 families nightly across our Seattle and Anchorage campuses. In addition to housing, our facilities offer stocked common pantries, laundry machines, linens and towels, toiletries, paper products, and all the other items that make a house a home. We also offer meals, activities, outings for kids, visits from certified therapy dogs, and many other services. The House is so much more than a place to stay; it is a community. What started in 1983 as a modest 20-room facility serving oncology patients in Seattle has grown to provide free housing and services to 2200 families per year in our two locations.
