About This Cause
The Washington State Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that supports the public service and diversity programs of the Washington State Bar Association.
Public service programs include Call to Duty, which offers free legal clinics to veterans and free training opportunities to volunteer attorneys on the issues and challenges unique to veteran clients. The Foundation also supports the Moderate Means Program, an innovative referral service for clients who fall within 200-400% of the Federal Poverty Level. These clients do not qualify for free legal aid, but cannot afford to pay full fees. Law students at Washington's three law schools receive intake training and practical experience, providing referrals to attorneys who offer rates reduced rates in order to serve clients who might otherwise not receive legal assistance.
The Foundation also supports Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and events in an effort to create a more inclusive legal profession.
