The Parent Advisory Council's mission is to provide supportive community and high quality, culturally relevant and anti-bias education for children and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds, accessible to all families.

About This Cause

PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC) The Parent Advisory Council provides advice and support to the Parent Education Program at North Seattle College, in order to achieve its mission. The Council organizes outreach, fundraising, and scholarship programs to make the parent cooperative preschools and other classes offered by the Parent Education Program in community, including local shelters for the homeless, such as Mary's Place, available to all families. PAC meets on a monthly basis and its major objectives are: • To promote quality education for parents and their children. • To offer parent information and feedback for decision making by the Parent Education Program, North Seattle College. • To share information about the classes offered, and community education through free quarterly Parent Education lectures. • To provide fundraising and scholarship access so that parent education classes are available to all socioeconomic groups. PAC also supports the annual Latina Symposium that the Parent Education Program organizes in partnership with the Symposio de Mujeres Latinas community organization.
