About This Cause
The renowned Seattle Women's Chorus and Seattle Men’s Chorus together make the largest community chorus organization in North America, and stand out among the largest LGBTQ-identified choruses in the world. We're among the Pacific Northwest’s most vibrant music organizations, performing for an annual audience of more than 20,000 patrons across the Puget Sound. Seattle Choruses perform an eclectic mix of music, from classical to contemporary, Broadway to pop, and often feature music and stories that promote social justice and equality. No matter the subject matter or style, all of our concerts have one thing in common: they are FUN, entertaining and informative! The Supertonics are a mixed-voice SATB ensemble comprised of members from both Seattle Women's Chorus and Seattle Men's Chorus, with a focus on singing tight-harmony a cappella repertoire. The Supertonics are directed by Nikki Blackmer, who brings 15 years of experience singing, directing, and teaching a cappella music. The Supertonics are ambassadors, bringing our music and mission of inclusion and justice to community groups and events around the region. Members of Seattle Choruses have been working with Washington Middle School advanced choir students for more than four years to provide an annual Choral Music Residency Program. This partnership has evolved into a significant source of enrichment for staff, choir students, and the entire Washington Middle School community. In addition to our singing members, Seattle Choruses has a base of over 50 volunteers and associate members who support both Choruses in their concert activities. Flying House Productions is the not-for-profit organization that governs and manages our Choruses.
