SOUTH PACIFIC COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY

LONG BEACH, Washington, 98631-0101 United States

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote compassionate care, spay/neuter and placement of cats and dogs through service and education.

About This Cause

SPCHS is only animal shelter in Pacific County, WA, a rural county without animal control. We are a no-kill shelter that keeps cats and dogs until they are placed in loving homes. Approximately 400 animals are adopted each year and about 100 stray animals are returned to their owners. We take in strays and owner surrenders and transport animals from over-crowded and "kill" shelters, mainly in California. We support our local community by providing pet food and financial assistance for spay/neuter to low-income residents and by assisting residents with trap/neuter/return (TNR) of community/feral cats. We do all of this with a manager, a few part-time animal care staff and 40+ dedicated volunteers. We are funded thanks to the generosity of the animal-loving community, without support from tax dollars.
