We develop community partnerships and bridge sustainable funding in support of the Edmonds School District's children, families, and educators in their pursuit of educational excellence.
About This Cause
The Foundation for Edmonds School District is a registered 501(c)(3) benefiting students, teachers and families in Snohomish County’s largest public school district. Our vision is to ensure that every student in the district has the resources to learn, thrive and contribute to our vibrant community. Over the past 8 years, the Foundation has grown from a $40,000 organization with a small handful of programs to a $1M+ organization offering more than a dozen programs in three key areas: academic enrichment, career & college readiness, and the Nourishing Network. • Creative Classroom and Schoolwide grants provide supplemental dollars to enrich learning and support innovative teaching in all subject areas, at all grade levels. Student Program Matching helps fund participation in regional and national competitions. • Career & College Readiness programs aim to close opportunity and achievement gaps through stipend support for entrance exams and high school credits, career-connected learning, and post-secondary scholarships for students pursuing vocational, 2- and 4-year programs. • The Nourishing Network and Whole Families, Whole Communities initiatives fight hunger and homelessness within our school community. Nourishing Network’s weekend meal program, summer meal program and monthly pop-up pantries serve 275 homeless students and 300 at-risk households. Whole Families, Whole Communities seeks to stabilize vulnerable households by offering emergency financial assistance and coordinated support services through a robust network of community partners. In 2018-2019, the Foundation was proud to make more than $735,000 in program investments touching all 35 Edmonds School District campuses in some way.
